He received his bachelor's degree and still has eligibilty left. Because he has graduated, he will not have to sit out a year because of the transfer. Oklahoma St. also has to sign a release if they agree that the school where the player is transferring to will not cause any conflict between the schools.

For example Everret Golson was the starting QB at Notre Dame last year but lost the starting job. He has since then graduated and has transferred to Florida St. Golson was told by Notre Dame officials that they would block a transfer to The University of Texas as Notre Dame and Texas are scheduled to play their season openers against one another on sept. 5th. Golson is eligible to play immediately for Florida St.

Although I understand why ND would block, it still sucked for UT. Not even sure there was any mutual interest, but I would like to see Texas add another QB at some point. They could use more options.

There was interest but he said as soon as ND told him he couldnt go to Texas he didnt really question it. There's a good fox sports article floating around with the interview regarding his interest in schools.
