Top 25 high school football: Quiet week among the Bay’s best

    Top 25 high school football:

With 10 teams having byes over the weekend, there didn’t figure to be much movement in this week’s Chronicle Top 25 rankings.

Only No. 25 Liberty — which was beaten 54-21 by No. 24 Heritage in the Brentwood Bowl — dropped out of the rankings.

Menlo-Atherton (3-2), which has won three straight after losses to No. 11 Bellarmine and No. 18 Marin Catholic-Kentfield, replaces Liberty.

The toughest selection was that of previous No. 7 Milpitas (5-1), which lost 23-13 at home to Los Gatos (2-3).

The Trojans dropped four spots and Antioch — which lost to Milpitas — moved up to No. 7 in the wake of its 28-21 loss at top-ranked De La Salle on Sept. 23.

Teams on the bubble this week are:

    Kennedy-Fremont (5-0), Moreau Catholic-Hayward (4-1), Rancho Cotate (3-2), St. Ignatius (3-2), St. Patrick-St.
