Chronicle H.S. Football Top 25: De La Salle stays No. 1, despite loss

    Chronicle H.S. Football Top 25:

De La Salle stays No. 1, despite loss

With six teams recording byes last week, there didn’t figure to be a lot of movement from last week’s rankings, and there wasn’t.

[...] there was next to none.

The top 13 spots, even No. 1 De La Salle-Concord, which lost a 23-21 stunner to East (Salt Lake City, Utah), remained the same.

The only other two losses among the Top 25 came from previous No. 14 Campolindo-Moraga, which lost a very competitive 28-21 game to Sac-Joaquin Section squad Oakdale, and No. 23 Liberty-Brentwood, which lost to No. 13 Concord.

Liberty dropped out of the rankings, albeit barely, and Aragon-San Mateo moved in to the No. 25 spot from the bubble.

Aragon has outscored foes 173-43, including a 44-6 win over Jefferson on Friday.

A team to watch climb up the rankings is No. 15 Bishop O’Dowd-Oakland which looked dominating again in a 48-7 win over a good St. Mary’s-Berkeley squad.

O’Dowd has outscored three opponents 162-14.

Five teams on the bubble this week are:

    Foothill (1-3), Heritage (4-0), Riordan (2-1), Santa Rosa (3-0) and St. Patrick-St.
