    Byron Marshall off to fast start for Oregon

    Valley Christian head football coach Mike Machado said Oregon junior running back Byron Marshall always makes it a point to take his former high school coach to lunch or dinner.

    Marshall, the Pac-12's leading returning rusher (1,038 yards, 14 touchdowns), told Machado this summer he was being pushed hard by sophomore Thomas Tyner and freshman Royce Freeman, but the former All-Metro standout showed no concern.

    Marshall was the team's leading rusher (eight carries, 90 yards) and leading receiver (eight catches, 138 yards, two touchdowns).
