David Robinett said, "Coach Cox, your guys came out and got yourself a win on Friday night and kept your playoff hopes alive. How proud are you of this team?"
Abilene High head coach Del Van Cox said, "Oh man, I am proud of these guys. Through all of the things that they've been through, they've always kept working, and it paid off last Friday night. We gave ourselves to still make the playoffs, and we're excited about that opportunity."
Robinett said, "You talked about getting the ball to Raekwon and you did. He touched it 18 times on offense and had a couple of touchdowns and had a bunch of catches. How important was that for you guys to get down the field?"
Coach Cox said, "When he's got the ball, good things happen. He's hard to tackle, and he can score at any time. We've got to get the ball in his hands and make plays."
Robinett said, "Now it's open date. A lot of teams would talk about getting healthy. Your situation is that most of you injuries were season ending. What's your approach this week?"
Coach Cox said, "We've go to make sure we are making ourselves better this week because we've still got lots of improvement with the new guys that have come up and had to step up. We've got to make sure we are getting better this week. Take a little mental break, but also know that we are trying to get better."
