    Eagles D-Line meshing well

The Abilene High Eagles continue District 3-6A play tomorrow night at home against the Keller Central.
Like most of the team, the Eagles defensive front has been hit hard by injuries, but the current group is meshing well together.
Senior Josh Benevides, junior Griffin Cooke, and sophomore Tigee Gambrell helped contribute to the Eagles best defensive performance against Fossil Ridge last week.
JD Duggar said, "I think we just had a lot of people step up. Tigee came up as a sophomore, he's been playing great. I just feel like it's kind of that next man up mentality. When someone goes down we just have a lot of guys that come up ready to play."
Griffin Cooke said, "We're just a lot more comfortable now. At the beginning of the year all of us were new to the position. We're just learning our reads better and it's just allowing us to play a lot faster. We're just a lot more comfortable and a lot more confident in ourselves."
Joshua Benevides said, "Execution, the coaches have been preparing us. Coach Dews and Coach Fullen gave us a great gameplan and we just gotta run it the whole game."
The Eagles continue district play this week at Shotwell Stadium tomorrow night against Keller Central.
Abilene High is 0-2 in district, Central is 1-0.
