Cooper ready for district after bye week

The Cooper Cougars start district play on Friday night against Lubbock Monterey.
The Cougars enter the playoff chase with a 4-1 record.
It's been a long, hard, and successful non-district season for head coach Todd Moebes and his team.
Now it's time for the games that count.
The timing of the open week was perfect, and the Cougars are ready to start playing district football.
Myller Royals said, "Getting that week off before district and getting our bodies healed up, also. It went pretty well. We still practiced as hard as we needed to be practicing."
Aenaes Favors said, "We're pretty excited. We've been talking about it for a long time and been ready for it."
Royals added, "I'm excited. This is my last time to play district, as well as the other seniors, and I know how pumped they are. We've been talking about it since two-a-days started, and it's finally here."
It's time for district play. The 21st ranked Cougars are headed north to Lubbock for their game with Monterey.
The Cougars are 4-1, Monterey is 2-3. Note the kickoff time; they start at 8.
