Warren's Wisdom: High school open date

David Robinett talks to Steve Warren about high school football open dates in Warren's Wisdom.
David Robinett said, "It is time for Warren's Wisdom one more time this week. We are going to talk about high school football. It's open week for most of the schools in the Big Country. There are a handful playing this week, but mostly people are off this week. What is the approach for most coaches. I know you had your approach. What is the approach for most coaches in the open."
Steve Warren said, "A lot of guys will go back and get some rest. They are banged up. They've been practicing hard since late July. It's been a grind. So, there are guys that are bumped and bruised, but at the same time, they will go back and work on some fundamentals. They probably haven't taken a lot of time going into to district play which is the new next season. This is what everybody point toward. These are the games that get you to the third season, which is the playoffs. So, you've got to be sharp right now and go back and work on the fundamentals."
Robinett said, "Is it a fun week for the players, or kind of a hard, grinding kind of week."
Warren said, "It's kind of hard, grinding, I think. The players like looking up and saying we've got a game on Friday. We're off a little on Thursday. We've got pep rally. We've got all this stuff. This week, all we've got is work with maybe a day off in there to get them a little bit of rest, but well deserved for a lot of these teams."
Robinett said, "The high school football season does continue this week for several football teams. We will have that on KFX."
