    Coogs excited for Crosstown atmosphere

Head coach Todd Moebes and his Cougars are undefeated heading into the Crosstown Showdown for the first time since 2010.

The Cougars earned their second win of the season last week by beating Grapevine by four points.

It's Crosstown Showdown week, and coach Moebes expects his kids to stay focused.

Coach Moebes said, "We understand the rivalry and to be able to play in an arena and an environment that's got 10's of thousands of people there and a lot of pride within the community is what makes it special. I don't think people grow up dreaming of playing in a stadium with only fifty people in there. They dream of these big type of game with a lot of energy and a lot of emotion and passion. That's what makes this game great, and our kids, and us as coaches, and our community have the great privilege of being able to live it."

The Cougars lead the series with 32 wins, but Abilene is 11-2 in the last 13 meetings. They kick at 7:30 p.m.
