Warren's Wisdom: Making the 3rd Round

It's time for Warren's Wisdom. It's Thanksgiving week. That means that the third week of the high school football season is is here. That means it gets tougher for everybody, especially, Abilene High, Cooper, and Wylie. You've been through this. What changes? Why is it so much tougher?

Steve Warren said, "First, congratulations to all three of those teams for being in the third round and practicing on Thanksgiving. That's a goal, and they've checked that box. Good for all three programs. The biggest things, and you and I talked off air a little bit, now you start going back to the east, and we all know, when you go East, you face a lot more talent than what you have. There's bigger numbers. You just face a lot more talent, and it's been that way year in and year out. There's only 16 teams left. You are facing the best of the best. If you are here, you've accomplished a lot, so cudos to those guys, but understand you're facing a lot more talent out that direction."

I guess the trick is, don't worry about that and take care of what you've done and take care of yourself and see what happens.

Warren added, "That's all you've got to focus on. You've gotten this far. Don't derail yourself thinking about trying to do something different than what got you here. You've played 13 weeks. Hopefully, all three can pull it out this week."

We hope so. That does it for Warren's Wisdom, right now. Tonight at 10 we're going to talk about the Dallas Cowboys and that short work week that they've got heading into the Thankgiving Day game.
