Hawley Falls To Stephenville At Brownwood Qualifier

Brownwood's 7-on-7 state qualifier featured seven big country teams - Albany, Ballinger, Brownwood, Early, Hawley, Jim Ned and Merkel.

Hawley made it to the finals where they faced Stephenville Yellow Jackets in hopes of booking their ticket to state.

Stephenville was ahead by a touchdown entering the second half, until Quay Stokes passes to Tristan Wegener to tie it up.

On their next posession, Stokes finds Saxon Jones in the back of the end zone to put Hawley in front.

The Yellow Jacket's tied up the score with seconds left on the clock with a shot to Cameron Frazier to put the game into overtime.

The first pass to Blake Aragon puts Stephenville in the end zone for their sixth touchdown of the game.

Falling just short of a complete pass, the Bearcats fell 38-32 against the Yellow Jackets.

This win qualified Stephenville for the state tournament.
