Hard Work Paid Off for Indians

The Jim Ned Indians are in the regional quarterfinals for the first time since 2011, and that means none of the current members on the squad have ever reached this point.

It's an exciting time for the Indians, but getting here didn't happen just by luck. This group has consistently been one of the best in the state all year long.

The Indians are ranked 7th in the state, and now all the hard work put in during the regular season is paying off.

"It shows that hard work really does pay off," Cade Johnson said. "You know, we've put a lot of work into this, and to make it past the area feels great. I mean, we feel very accomplished."

"We're just excited. I mean they have a lot of goals in mind with baseball, and we just want to continue to play, and play as long as we can, and I'm just, I'm proud of these kids," head coach Vincent Lavallee said. "They fought and scratched and got after it, and they did a great job."

The Indians are taking on Reagan County in the third round.

It's a three game series that starts Thursday in Hermleigh.
