Cougars Looking to Improve During Spring Practice

The Cooper Cougars are coming off an outstanding 2015 that included a run to the third round of the Class 5A playoffs.

15 starters are back for head coach Todd Moebes for the new season, so they are expecting another good year, but a bunch of returning starters doesn't mean guaranteed success.

The Cougars have work to do in the next 16 days.

Coach Moebes said, "Just to get better. For the level of execution to increase. I thought it was decent yesterday for day one, but it wasn't where we wanted it to be. Hopefully we can finish practice today and know that we are better today than we were yesterday, and just, continue that building block every single day, and at the end of Spring we can look back and say that it was two and a half weeks of practice and our execution is where we want it to be going into the summer."

Zach Goodson said, "Getting some of our news guys used to how we do stuff. You know, the Cooper way. The way we play ball, how we hit, how we play. We are aggressive and fast. We play hard."

Spring football wraps up for the Cougars on May 19th at Shotwell Stadium with the Red/Blue game.

Cooper opens the 2016 season at home on August 26th against Class 6A Keller.
