The 2nd round of the girls playoffs continued Friday night, and Clyde and Merkel fought it out at McMurry University.
In the first quarter, Clyde added to their lead as Alexis Walsh misses her shot, but Monica Driscoll cleans it up for two. Clyde leads it by six.
A bit later Merkel trying to cut in as Sierra Barnhill gets the feed and laces in the three which cuts the deficit to three.
Late in the first, Alexis Houston drives, misses, but once again Driscoll gets the putback to go, and Clyde leads it by five.
Clyde hangs on to win the area championship and advances to the third round as the Lady Bulldgos beat Merkel by 30 to 28.
