I have never personally subscribed to the mentality that the previous seasons champs should be automatically number 1. One way to look at it is. Allen and Desoto have had very close games these three years. One play here and there has been the difference. Same for Cedar Hill and Katy. Murray was the main catalyst for Allen. He is gone now. Katy brings a very strong team this year. I think these four teams in any order is fine. I don't think it is a lack of appreciation or respect for Allen or CHill.

It's where they finish anyway that matters. I expect them all to be prime contenders.

Skyline is too high as is Arkington Martin and Bowie. I think Dickinson would destroy all 3 of those teams by 2-3 TDs

Umm its not the same team that went 47-1 and won 3 state titles. I don't have a problem with Allen ranked where they are. I would actually have them behind Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Trinity and possibly Guyer just in the metromess. You don't just replace a guy like Kyler Murray and Allen was a perennial 2 round team before his arrival.
They play in one of the weakest districts in Texas and get 8 home games but I'm not sure that warrants a number 1 ranking.

Agree. I would think Allen or CHILL would be #1. Y'all have put it together two years in a row when it has mattered. Katy hasn't.

IMO Allen and CHill start 1 & 2 until someone beats them. I like Langham Creek, I think I have them 8-9 in my Region 3 rankings, I just don't think you can have them 24 in the State and leave out GHA teams like North Shore and Dickinson.

Dallas Jackson and company is responsible for this poll. It's not the best poll I have seen, but far from the worst. Solid for the most part.

Not a bad list at all. Have my DFW dark horse listed in Arlington Lamar and my dark horse for GHA in Alief Elsik. I think I'd move SLC and Guyer up and move Steele down some spots and add SA Reagan but over all not a bad list. Bravo Vype.
