Yeah, I see that he picked Martin in his ranking. That makes sense. The other picks I could see an argument.

No doubt Dville will be a very improve team and Samples will have their O up and going by district play and they will have one of the states best FG kickers that can hit from 60yds out. The D will be tested and they have to build confidence to stay in close games. Just my opinion, Mansfield has the team that will challenge this district and they are overlook every year by the pollsters and the posters.

Yea its tough. Mansfield, SGP,(Mansfield in SGP out or vice versa) & Duncanville. I could be wrong but I cannot see Duncanville being that far away with all that talent and their new coach, which is the difference (or xfactor )between them and Mansfield/SGP.

Why Allen will be okay in 2015: Allen is currently riding an obscene 43-game winning streak. The team’s got a lot back – eight starters on defense, and a solid nucleus back on offense – including the nation’s best tackle prospect, Greg Little.

Well, for doubters and skeptics alike, here are five reasons why Allen will once again soar high in the upcoming season:But – perhaps more than any other fan base – I’ve been asked by Allen fans how I think they’ll fare in 2015. Why the trepidation?

Allen defensive back Jaylon Jones (4) intercepts a pass intended for Euless Trinity wide receiver Isaiah Runnells (15) in the third quarter during a Class 6A, Division 1 quarterfinal high school football game, Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at Apogee Stadium in Denton, Texas. Allen won 30-27. (Matt Strasen/Special Contributor)

    1) Murray memories
Losing Kyler Murray is a huge blow. But if there’s one thing that Murray left in Allen (besides all the titles), it’s an unshakeable sense among returning players that they can win games. Sure, a lot of that was born from Murray’s dynamism. But it wasn’t all him. Two key fourth-quarter plays in Allen’s win over Arlington Martin were a kickoff return by Jaylon Jones and an interception return by Anthony Taylor. Both Jones and Taylor are back. Allen wouldn’t have beaten Euless Trinity if not for a big fourth-and-1 stop by its defense in the fourth quarter. The defense similarly made some key stops against Skyline, allowing a 17-point second-half comeback. Those positive vibes should linger into this season.

Extra bricks were added as support to a scoreboard at Allen High School’s Eagle Stadium Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Allen, Texas. The new stadium has been closed since February 2014 for repairs due to extensive cracking in concrete around the structure. (G.J. McCarthy/The Dallas Morning News)

    2) Home cookin’
Since Allen Eagle Stadium was closed last season, Allen played all of its games at neutral sites or on the road. Not so in 2015. With a refurbished stadium, Allen gets eight home games – including five home starts in its first five contests. Most of those games should find the stadium packed to its 18,000-seat capacity – especially the season’s toughest game, Allen’s season opener against Denton Guyer.

Guyer sophomore quarterback Shawn Robinson (3) is wrapped up by Allen junior linebacker Paul Dehondt (40) and junior defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (95), in a class 6A matchup for the 2014 Tom Landry Classic, Friday, August 29, 2014, at Apogee Stadium in Denton, TX. David Minton/DRC

    3) Navigating the schedule
Guyer – with all-world quarterback Shawn Robinson – should be Allen’s highest hurdle. Its only other non-district game is against Viera (Florida), but this isn’t some perennial Florida powerhouse. In its last game of 2014, a regional 7A quarterfinal against Charlotte, Viera got blasted, 48-0, with a running clock in the second half. In district play, Plano, McKinney Boyd and Flower Mound Marcus are Allen’s closest competition. But Marcus was the only team to make it close in 2014, losing 35-24, and Plano played Allen to a point in 2012. And that’s it – no one else has been close. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Allen head into its second-round playoff game with a 54-game winning streak – the second-longest in state history.

    4) Big D
Allen’s defense should be something special. The defense had great second-half performances in last year’s playoff run – and that should continue. It’s got a dominant rush end in Levi Onwuzurike, solid linebackers in Jakob Yandell and Dallas George, and a solid secondary – headlined by Jones and junior Jaylen Ellis.

    5) QBs lining up
I know a lot of people scoffed at coach Tom Westerberg’s comments that junior Mitchell Jonke – not Minnesota transfer (and Oregon commit) Seth Green – was Allen’s leader at QB coming into the fall. Just a PR move, wrote national high school football analyst Dallas Jackson. I’m inclined to believe Westerberg at his word, though. Allen’s certainly fortunate to get a transfer like Green on its campus. He’s big and strong (6-4, 216), but reviews from the spring on his accuracy have been mixed and his understanding of the Allen offense is well behind the other two contenders: Jonke – unbeaten as a freshman and on the JV – and Jared Harvey, Murray’s backup last season as a sophomore. If Green isn’t on point, Allen’s going to have someone capable in his stead. Westerberg has reminded me more than once that he’s won a state title (2008) with a backup quarterback; Tucker Carter stepped in for an injured Matt Brown for the final four games of that playoff run. Remember the last time a big-time QB prospect came from out of state into one of North Texas’ premier programs? Daxx Garman would have been the starter in Southlake if not for WFAA’s Brett Shipp, but Kenny Hill did a pretty good job when Garman was ruled ineligible. Allen – the largest school in the state – has that type of depth, too.

    BONUS
    6) DeSoto departure?

No matter how well Allen fares this season sans Murray, I think DeSoto has to be the favorite for the Class 6A Division I title. The two would meet again in the second round of the playoffs, if both claimed the top spot from their districts (as is expected). But, there’s a possibility that DeSoto won’t be a Division I team. South Grand Prairie is loaded, and should make the playoffs alongside Cedar Hill and DeSoto in District 8-6A. If Reginald Samples can get Duncanville to bounce back to a playoff berth, both SGP and Duncanville would be the D1 representatives, and DeSoto would go Division II.

Pays the same as Trinity. $110K and some change or so.

For a HC gig, believe it. There are worse places.

As somebody who grew up following Lewisville football I used to hate being matched up with Duncanville. There were 2 really good playoff games played by those two teams in 1996 and 2000. Duncanville killed Lewisville in 97

Not really!Much required, much expected. Regardless champions deserve and have earned(proven)their right to be at the top even with their loss of superman. Also transition(for coaches and players)is easy for some and difficult for others, is not an easy task and will/can cause stumbles and falls along the way during the transition period.
