    St. Ignatius sweeps archrival Sacred Heart Cathedral

    They packed 5,500 fans into Memorial Gym at USF on Tuesday night, and no one left anything but optimistic.

    The boys basketball future this season and beyond looks bright for longtime San Francisco rivals St. Ignatius and Sacred Heart Cathedral, both of which put on a dazzling show of skill and athleticism.

    St. Ignatius (9-4, 2-1 West Catholic Athletic League) had too much experience and a tad more depth to post a 68-61 victory in the Bruce-Mahoney game.

    Darrion Trammell, a terrific 5-foot-10 guard, swished four free throws and pulled up for a pretty mid-range jumper down the stretch to seal the victory. He finished with 24 points.
