Ann Richards School will appeal the UIL’s decision to place it in Class 6A for girls sports.
Ann Richards hopes to be released from its inclusion in District 25-6A, which includes athletic powerhouses such as Lake Travis (enrollment: 3,085), Westlake (2,706) and Bowie (2,873).
By contrast, Ann Richards has an enrollment of 414 from grades 9-12. For UIL purposes, that figure is double to 828 because the school does not include boys.
