    Comanche is making history

The Comanche Indians are doing something that hasn't been done in 64 years. They are playing in the third round of the high school football postseason.
It's been a long time in coming for head coach Stephen Hermesmeyer.
He took over the program 5 years ago and slowly but surely rebuilt the program. This is a big deal for the players, but coach Hermesmeyer says it's goes beyond that.
Stephen Hermesmeyer said, "This is huge for the city of Comanche. This is the first time since 1953 the first ball team's went past the second round, so this is big for us. We're getting to play December football. We has some goals at the first of the year. These kids wrote down some goals to win back to back district titles. We got that. To win a playoff game, which we hadn't done, we got it last week. To play Thanksgiving football, we got to do that. Now, we are going to December football and alive in the playoffs. We're gonna regroup and try to get healed up and get after it again next week."
    District rival Merkel is next.
They indians and the Badgers play in Clyde Friday night at 7:30.
