Coogs are ready for short week

Head coach Todd Moebes and his team dominated the Lubbock Cooper Pirates on Friday night, 52-14, for the first district win of the season.
The offense gained over 500 yards and the defense only allowed two scores. They don't get enjoy this one very long. They play in two days. It's a short work week, but coach Moebes says his guys will be ready.
Coach Moebes said, "They've just got to understand. You just got to talk to them. I understand it's a short week. We have to cram three days of practice into two. It's a short turn around as far as recovery goes. You're talking about 24 hours for allowing your body that played a physical football game the week before to be able to recover. That's a big deal. Both teams are on the same type of schedule, so there isn't any advantage anywhere."
Cooper takes on Lubbock High up in Lubbock on Thursday night. Both teams enter the game with 1-1 records in district.
