David Robinett said, "I am with Abilene High head coach Del Van Cox. Another close game, and you just couldn't quite get over the hump. You are getting to the point of desperation. You have to win, now."
Abilene High head coach Del Van Cox said, "We've got to win our next three if we want a shot at making the playoffs. Right now, we just need to win one."
Robinett said, "Twenty to twenty, it seems like you are moving the football with pretty good success. It's just getting down there close to the goal line it gets pretty hard. I know it's hard for every offense."
Coach Cox said, "We've struggled in that in the past over the year. When people get down in the red zone, there are a lot more bllitzes, a lot more man coverages, and things happen. We've got to do a good job of being basic as far as making sure our guys know exactly what to do, and then, we've got to try to get it into Ray's hands more and let him take over."
Robinett said, "Defensively, you guys are playing good. That's two weeks in a row they've been very solid."
Coach Cox said, "Those guys are doing a great job and getting better every week. Our younger guys are starting to figure things out, figure out the speed of the game, doing a better job of tackling. Those guys are doing a lot better job."
Robinett said, "Abilene High takes on Weatherford coming on Friday night. It's in Weatherford. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m."
