    Hamlin found their groove

The Hamlin Pied Pipers struggled out of the gate this season and started with an 0-2 record.
Since their shut out loss to the Merkel Badgers, the Pipers are a different team.
They are riding an impressive three-game winning streak with victories over state-ranked Hawley, Winters, and a double-overtime win against state-ranked Stamford.
"We didn't score any against Merkel in that second ball game, and so I felt like offensively it's just taken us a while to find our identity, so yeah we're in a little bit of a groove now, and defensively we're playing better," head coach Russell Lucas said. "Some of that's just because we've got the right personnel in the right places, and they feel comfortable with what they're doing."
"I feel like we've got the right people in the right positions on the field, and we've really started clicking as a team, and able to get a few wins under our belt," Colby Stevenson said.
"We picked up the intensity in practice, and just set some goals for ourselves, and we knew that starting off the season 0-2, that wasn't part of those goals, so we just picked it up in practice and it showed in the games," Kyler Gann said.
District 4-2A Division II is next for Hamlin.
The Pied Pipers start district play in the south plains this week against Plains.
