    Bulldog starters looked confident

Well we can't escape it any longer, the first week of the high school football season is in the books, and the Wylie Bulldogs showed up in style week one.

They beat Vernon soundly 45-6. The Bulldog offense was impressive, but so was the defense and special teams. It was an all around solid victory.

Last week we talked about the new faces on the field for Wylie and what we'd see from them, well once again it looks like the Bulldogs have simply, reloaded, and coach Sandifer liked what he saw from his starters.

Hugh Sandifer said, "I thought they looked confident. Both sides of the ball, and were pretty clean as far as penalties, and as far as execution. You know the great thing about it, we got a big lead, so we got to play a lot of guys. We played 57 guys Friday night, and that's always so good for your team and team building, and so you know, you couldn't ask for much better Friday night."

Wyatt Wink said, "It was aweseome. I'm real excited how everything worked out. We're ready for week two and see what else we can do."

Wylie's week two features a matchup with Class 5A power Lubbock Monterey.

The game with the Plainsmen kicks off at 7:30 Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.
