Wildcat head coach Ken Collums has been saying for a while now that they have a lot of new guys on the team this season, and he is excited about that.
Collums has loved the way the rookies have been this first week of practice. But they are rookies and don't really know what to expect yet, and Collums understands that and wants to make sure the new guys know they are supported.
Ken Collums said, "You get a rookie in here straight out of high school, they've never had to do this. Not at this level and it's hard on them, but you encourage them, you love on them, you fuss at them, you kick them in the tail, and ultimately they grow through it. I constantly tell them, we're going to ask you to do things at times that you think are unreasonable because it's just so much. We're going to ask you to this and this and this and this, and to be good at all of it, but you remind them, you can do this. We hand picked you, and you wanted to be here. We're together, we're going to stick it out with you and you can do this. We're not asking you to do anything you can't do."
The Wildcats start their second week of fall camp tomorrow.
