Longhorns Hope to Turn This Season Around

In class 3A division I, the Early Longhorns are entering their second season under the leadership of Blake Sandford.

Sandford took over the program late in July in 2015. The 'Horns struggled with just two wins. This year coach Sanford and his team enter with a full year of his leadership under their belt, and the coach and players expect that to make a big difference in 2016.

"It's exciting because the kids are getting to do something they've been wanting to do for a long time here for this past year, and trying to put everything together that we've been working on thus far," Sandford. "Expect to see some grit and toughness and hard work, that's one thing we're going to pride ourselves on, hang our hat on that, just a better product, a bunch of kids that are trying to fight their tails off every week."

Here are some BCH Sports quick hits for the Early Longhorns.

They return five starters on offense and four on defense from 2015. Drew Sessler is expected to be Early's top target at receiver.

The 'Horns open the season at Bangs on August 26th.
