The Hawley Lady Bearcats are the three time Region I champions, and they are looking for their fourth straight trip to the state tournament.
Until last week, most of the starters on the 2016 Hawley team had never started in a playoff game.
That being the case, the seniors had to step up to help prepare the new players.
"We do have a lot of young players, and so all of the seniors have, we've all been to state the past three years, so we all know what to tell them to know what to expect when going into the playoffs, and taking each game like, you have to play it one game at a time," senior Cassidy Meyer said. "We're just preparing them what to expect and what to be ready for."
"I feel like we're prepared," sophomore Marrissa Hall said. "We're prepared in the sense that we've experienced it, and we know what we're getting ourselves into, and we'll just be more focused and more confident that we can just go out there and be above it all."
The Lady Bearcats continue the playoffs in Winters Friday night.
They take on Eldorado in game one of that series at 5:30 p.m. Game two is at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
