The Hawley Bearcats fell to Stamford, 5-2, Friday night in Hawley. The loss drops the Bearcats to 8-3 in District 8-2A play.
The Bearcats took an early lead when Jody Hicks got an infield single, scoring Calvin Seago. That put Hawley up 1-0.
The Bulldogs took the lead in the fourth, scoring three runs in the frame.
Stamford would be able to hang on from there, as they take down the Bearcats 5-2.
