Cougars Face Huge Challenge In Palo Duro

The Cooper Cougars struggled down the stretch of the regular season and enter the playoffs on a two-game losing streak andhave lost four out of their last five games.

It's been a tough stretch, but it's playoff time, now.

Billy Cunningham's team opens with Amarillo Palo Duro.

The Dons are ranked twelfth in the state, and the Cougars are ready to face one of the state's best.

Coach Billy Cunningham said, "You know what the guys are confident. We watched a lot of film on them, and we study our opponent. I think preperation breeds confidence. So, we really don't have anything to lose. In our locker room we do expect to win, but I know the outside world is thinking it's one and done, but we're going to go out there with a lot of confidence."

Darrien Campos said, "It's really the same thing the whole season. Just the mentality is just everybody wants to play. We want to win. That's all we want to do."

The Cougars and the Dons meet on Tuesday up in Lubbock at Monterey High School. They will tip at 6 p.m.
