AUSTIN, Texas - Despite the McMurry University women's basketball team losing a 75-60 decision at Concordia University-Texas, it was only fitting that its two seniors - Taylor Russell and Sierra Maykus - shone brightly in their War Hawks' career finale.

For Russell, it was just another day at the proverbial office. The War Hawks' 5-foot-10 inside player continued to post impressive numbers by notching her 17th double-double game of 2015-16. Russell scored a game-leading 23 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. She was 7-of-14 from the floor and a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line.

It was also Russell's 21st game in double-figure scoring out of McM's 24 games played.

Maykus finished off her senior season with 14 points, canning 6-of-20 from the field. Maykus also had a team-best five steals, along with two assists and a block.

McMurry raced out to the early lead after one quarter, 17-14. But the Tornados out-scored the War Hawks in the second quarter, 22-12, to take a 36-29 advantage into the halftime locker room. The third period saw CUTX extend its margin to 59-40, with McM slicing four points off of that in the final quarter.

The Tornados forced McM into 20 turnovers, which they converted into 20 points. The War Hawks also rattle CUTX enough to elicit 16 miscues on its part, as well, good for 13 McM points.

Concordia had a huge advantage inside, where it scored 42 points in the paint. McMurry tallied 18 points inside.

Sophomore Sham Hunter had a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with her five points. Jamie Flores had eight points, with Haley Welch also booking five. Amye Templeton and Chelsie Lail had three and two points, respectively.

McMurry ends the 2015-16 campaign with a mark of 5-19. CUTX improved to 14-11 in earning the No. 4 seed for the West Division in next week's ASC tournament.
